Supreme Court: Central Government Reached The SC Against The Powers Of The Delhi Government

Supreme Court: Central government reached the SC against the powers of the Delhi government, demanding a review of the decision.

The central government has moved the Supreme Court to review the May 11 Constitution bench verdict.

The SC has stated that the government of Delhi has legislative and executive powers over services in Delhi.

What is the controversy?

Let us tell you that the Center brought an ordinance yesterday to create the National Capital Civil Services Authority.

According to this order, the Center has granted the right to transfer and assign to Lieutenant Governor.

According to this ordinance, the transfer and posting of officers in the capital will be done through the National Capital Civil Services Authority (NCCSA).

It states that the CM of Delhi will be the chairman of the NCCSA and the chief secretary and home secretary will be its members.

The Supreme Court gave its verdict.

Significantly, just a week before the central government issued the ordinance, the Supreme Court had handed over the control of police, law and order, and all other services in the national capital to the Delhi government.
