Support Of Both Parties Is Increasing In The US For India

Support of both parties is increasing in the US for India against Chinese aggression. India has received tremendous support from the bipartisan members of the US Congress against the Chinese aggression at India Border recently shown by China in Ladakh.

India has received tremendous support from the bipartisan members of the US Congress against the Chinese aggression at India Border recently shown by China in Ladakh.

There has been a deadlock between the Indian and Chinese forces in many areas of the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh since May 5. The situation deteriorated when on 20 June 20 Indian army personnel were killed in clashes in the Galvan valley and many Chinese soldiers were killed.

US lawmakers condemned China’s attitude

In the last few weeks, many MPs from both the House of Representatives and the Senate have praised India’s tough stand against China’s efforts to annex Indian territories.

In the House of Representatives, Frank Palone, one of the senior Democratic Party MPs, condemned China’s aggression in the Ladakh region, saying, “I appeal to China to end its military aggression.” This conflict should be resolved only through peaceful means.

‘China mobilized 5,000 troops on Indian border’
Palon has been a member of the US Congress since 1988, strongly supporting Indo-US relations.

At a time when the political divide in Washington DC has increased, influential lawmakers of both parties are supporting India’s stand against China.

Palone claimed that a few months before the skirmishes, the Chinese army allegedly mobilized 5,000 troops on the border, and this clearly meant a reassertion of the border with force and aggression.

American MPs wrote a letter to the Indian Ambassador

Support to India against China was done through tweets, public speeches, the floor of the House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Many MPs also called Sandhu to express his outrage against China.

Senator expresses condolences on martyrdom of Indian soldiers

A day earlier, Republican Senator Corey Gardner from Colorado called Sandhu and expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in the LAC. Gardner said that relations between America and India are broad, deep, and in progress.

We discussed how important cooperation between the two countries is to counter common challenges and aggression in the region between our nations and to maintain a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific.

Republican Senator Gardner from Colorado is also the chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and international cyber security policy. Senator Rick Scott wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi weeks ago praising his fight against Chinese aggression.
