Sumit Nagal Said – Good Performance Boosted My Confidence

Sumit Nagal said – good performance boosted my confidence. Indian youth tennis player Sumit Nagal said his performance in the Argentina Open against top-60 players in the world has boosted his confidence.

Nagal has played many good matches, but so far he has not won any major tournament. Apart from this, his ranking is not as good right now.

In such a situation, there may be mental pressure on them. However, Nagal does not believe that he is under any kind of pressure.

While performing Bekouf Tennis, Nagal was eliminated from the world number 46 Albert Ramos Vinolas in a close match in the quarter-finals. Despite trailing 2–5 in the decisive set, Nagal did not give up.

On several important occasions, he had to bear the brunt of mistakes and lost 6-4, 2-6, 5-7. This was his best performance after playing as a qualifier on the ATP Tour.

Indian tennis star Sumit Nagal said, “This performance has boosted my confidence. Recently I have played close matches with many of the top-60 players. I am happy that I am playing well at this level.”

He said that he is not pressurizing himself to be in the top-100. “I just want to keep playing well. There is no pressure on me to make it to the top-100. Let’s see what happens next,” he said.

Sumit Nagal received prize money of US $ 9240 (about seven lakh rupees) here. In addition, he got 45 main draw ranking points and moved up from 150 to 132 in the world rankings.

In the last round of the tournament, he recorded his biggest ATP career win by beating world number 22 Christian Cristin. Nagal has also played several matches in Grand Slam.
