Stock market picks up; Sensex rises 285 points; Nifty crosses 14200.

Today, on the fourth trading day of the week i.e. Thursday, the stock market picks up with an increase. The Bombay Stock Exchange’s flagship index Sensex opened at 48459.73, up 285.67 points.

At the same time, the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty opened 83.70 points at 14230 level. The domestic stock market closed on the red mark on Wednesday.

The Sensex was down 263.72 points at 48174.06. The Nifty was down by 53.25 points to close at 14146.25.

Today, Bharti Airtel, BPCL, Grasim, Reliance and Divis Lab opened the green mark in the major stocks during initial trading.

At the same time, shares of M&M, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank and SBI opened on the red mark.

The sectoral index includes pharma, IT, FMCG, metals, finance services, realty, PSU banks, banks, private banks, media and auto.

On Wednesday, the Sensex opened with an increase in early trading.

After opening at a record level of 48,616.66, the Sensex rose 113.07 points to 48,550.85 and the Nifty rose 38.95 points to 14,238.45 in early trade.

Sensex also saw the biggest fall in ITC shares by 2.86 percent. Reliance shares were down by 2.64 percent.

On the previous trading day, other Asian markets closed in the green mark in Shanghai and Hong Kong, while the red mark in Tokyo and Seoul.

European stock markets are witnessing early trading boom. Today, Japan’s Nikkei index is trading up 485 points at 27,541 in Asian markets.

Hong Kong’s Hangseng Index is down 64 points to trade at 27,628.

As the Asian currencies strengthened against the US dollar on Wednesday, the rupee closed at 73.11 on the Interbank foreign exchange market on Wednesday.

The rupee opened at 73.16 per dollar in the interbank foreign exchange market.

The price of petrol and diesel was again increased on Thursday, January 7. In Delhi, the price of petrol went up 23 paise to Rs 84.20 on Thursday, while diesel rose 26 paise to Rs 74.38 per liter.

According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 84.20, Rs 85.68, Rs 90.83 and Rs 86.96 per liter respectively.

At the same time, diesel prices in the four metros have increased to Rs 74.38, Rs 77.97, Rs 81.07 and Rs 79.72 per liter respectively.
