Stalin announced Rs 5 lakh to children orphaned due to Covid-19: Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the children who lost both parents due to the corona virus.

In this order, instructions have been given by the National Commission working for the protection of child rights to upload the data of such children on the Bal Swaraj portal under the Covid Care link.

The Commission has given this information by writing a letter to the Principal Secretary of all states and union territories on Saturday.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 1.64 lakh new patients have been found and 2.71 lakh have been found healthy during the last 24 hours.

The active cases have come to around 22 lakhs. The number of dead in the second wave remains close to three and a half thousand, which is a cause for concern.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and other sources, in the second wave, on April 15, the number of daily infected crossed two lakhs. On May 6, it reached the maximum of 4.14 lakhs.

Election Commission said, Kerala State Council by-elections will not be held due to the second wave of Corona.

The Election Commission of India has put the by-elections for the Kerala State Council on hold due to the second wave of Corona.

The Election Commission said that it would not be appropriate for Kerala State Council to hold a by-election until the epidemic situation is rectified.

Three Rajya Sabha seats are still vacant from Kerala on which the by-election was to be held.

The Election Commission had decided to hold a by-election for the State Council of Kerala to fill the vacancies of the retired members on April 21 in three Rajya Sabha seats.

Let me tell you that all the three members elected from Kerala have retired on 21 April. The names of these three members are Abdul Wahab, KK Ragesh, Vayalar Ravi.

The Election Commission had said that the term of three Rajya Sabha members elected from Kerala is going to end in April, so biennial elections are to be held here.

But due to the havoc of Corona, it has been decided not to hold a by-election here.
