Sri Lankan Defeated The Netherlands By Eight Wickets On Friday

Sri Lankan defeated the Netherlands by eight wickets on Friday. T20 World Cup 2021.  Netherlands piled on just 44 runs, Sri Lanka won the match in 7.1 overs.

The Sri Lankan team, which has already qualified for the Super-12, defeated the Netherlands by eight wickets on Friday.

Stellar performances from spinners Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahesh Teeksha in their last match of the T20 World Cup.

The formality match was over within two hours. Winning the toss and bowling, Sri Lanka bundled out the Netherlands for 44 in 10 overs.

This is the sixth-lowest score in the history of T20 cricket and the second-lowest in the history of the T20 World Cup. After this Sri Lankan batsmen chased down the target in 7.1 overs.

Opener Kushal Perera remained unbeaten on 33 off 24 balls. It was Sri Lanka’s third win in three matches and they finished at the top of Group A with six points.

Now SL will face Bangladesh in his first match of Super-12 on Sunday. The attractive spinners of this match were Hasranga and Teekshan.

Hasaranga took three wickets for nine runs and Teekshna took two wickets for three runs. Batting first, the Netherlands cheaply lost the wicket of in-form opener Max O’Dowd (2).

He was run out in the very first over on a straight throw from Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka. Tikshna then dismissed Ben Cooper (9) and Stephen Maiberg (5) with a carrom ball.

Leg spinner Hasaranga took two wickets in the fifth over. First, he dismissed Colin Ackerman (11). After this Bas de Leide (0) was sent to the pavilion.

Half the Netherlands team had returned to the pavilion within 32 runs. Rolf van der Merwe could not even open the account, while captain Peter Sealer scored only two runs.

Tauranga dismissed him lbw. Fast bowler Lahiru Kumara walked down the order and took three wickets for seven runs. He took all three wickets in the 10th over.

Sri Lanka lost the wicket of opener Pathum Nisanka (0) in the second over chasing the target, but Perera then formalized the victory.

Charit Aslanka, who came in place of Dinesh Chandimal, could not take advantage of the opportunity and be dismissed for six runs.
