Army Commander of the Northern Command of the Army, Lieutenant General YK Joshi, on Tuesday, paid tribute to two soldiers of the Army’s Punjab Regiment, who were martyred while serving the country in Siachen.
On Sunday, two soldiers from Punjab, who were martyred during patrolling in Siachen, were brought to Leh after saluting them at the Siachen base camp.
Now after completing all the formalities, his body will be sent to Chandigarh on Wednesday by a special military aircraft. From there, the dead bodies will be transported to the houses by the road.
These soldiers of the 21 Punjab Regiment of the martyred army also paid tribute to the soldier Prabhjit Singh of Hakamwala village in Mansa district of Punjab.
The soldier commander Amardeep Singh of Karamgarh in Barnala district, along with the army commander and the corps commander of the fourteen corps of the army.
The army commander has saluted the martyrdom of these soldiers and has also comforted their families to deal with this misery.
Soldiers injured in an avalanche in Siachen: On Sunday, six army personnel were buried in snow in the avalanche during the patrolling.
The Army’s Avalanche Panthers and Mountain Rescue teams carried out these soldiers from the snow by carrying out extensive operations in the Hanif sub-sector of Siachen.
During this, Prabhjeet Singh and constable Amardeep Singh found heroism. At the same time, the other four jawans evacuated in critical condition are currently undergoing treatment in Leh.
After getting the information of this incident on Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Amarendra Singh decided to give financial assistance of fifty-five Lakhs to the families of martyrs.
Punjab Chief Minister also announced a government job to the families.
