SL vs SA ODI Series: Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by 125 runs. After 19 months, Sri Lanka’s team won the ODI series, defeating South Africa 2-1.

Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by 125 runs in the third and final match here on Tuesday to win the first ODI series in 19 months.

In this low-scoring match, the bowlers dominated and 19 wickets fell in 80 overs.

Out of this 16 wickets were taken by spinners which is the second-highest number of wickets taken by spinners in men’s one-day international cricket.

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 203 for nine, but then bundled out South Africa for 125 in 30 overs to register a 78-run win.

Off-spinner Mahesh Thiksana, making his debut for Sri Lanka, took a wicket on his very first ball and took four wickets for 37 runs.

Leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga took two for 38, while Dushmanta Chamira took two for 16.

Chamira also scored 29 runs and was adjudged man of the match. Charith Aslanka scored 47 runs in batting for Sri Lanka. He missed his third consecutive fifty.

South African spinners bowled a record 40 overs, seven more than the previous record. Caretaker captain Keshav Maharaj took three wickets for 38 runs.

SL vs SA ODI Series: Chasing the target, South Africa had a very poor start and they lost three wickets for 19 runs.

South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals and none other than wicket-keeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen (22) could touch the 20-run mark.

The first match of this series was won by Sri Lanka by a margin of 14 runs, but in the second match, South Africa came back and won by 67 runs.

But in the third match, the hosts got the victory and with this, the series was won. The team led by Shanaka won the match 2-1.

Gavaskar selected the favorite Indian team for the T20 World Cup.

The 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman in the months of October and November this year.

There will be a competition to capture the coveted trophy once again. The Indian cricket team is being considered as one of the strong contenders to win the T20 World Cup title this year.

Although the team has not been selected yet, before this, former India captain and veteran batsman Sunil Gavaskar has selected his Indian team for this important tournament.
