SIO Demands, ‘Islamophobic’ Content To Be Removed

SIO demands, ‘Islamophobic’ content to be removed from school curriculum: Telangana.

The Students Islamic Organization of India (SIO) has urged the Telangana government to remove “Islamophobic” material from the Class VIII school curriculum.

In fact, a picture has been printed in the question bank of Class VIII Social Studies in which the terrorist is shown holding a rocket launcher in the right hand and the Quran in the left hand.

The SIO has strongly protested against this picture and demanded the removal of Islamophobic material from the syllabus.

SIO demands, ‘Islamophobic’ content to be removed:  This chapter was published in ‘National Movement – Final Phase 1919-1947’.

SIO Telangana president Dr. Talha Fayazuddin condemned the publication of “Islamophobic” material and urged the state education minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy to initiate action against the publisher.

He said that such material would adversely affect the mind of the students.

Showing a man holding a gun in his right hand and the Holy Quran in his left hand is creating and promoting a conservative, hateful and Islamophobic attitude towards the Muslim community.

It is a discriminatory material that destroys the harmony, unity, and integrity of society.

The organization said that peace should be infused in the minds of the students through peace education and peace courses in educational institutions.

The organization demanded that the education ministry not sanction such disturbing content and take action against such irresponsible and promotional behavior.

The SIO demanded that the publisher immediately remove such material and republish the version. Meanwhile, the publication has also received several reactions from social media.

Citizens wonder how a secular government in Telangana allowed such material in the school curriculum.

The IMD has issued a red alert for Odisha and Andhra Pradesh coasts after the arrival of ‘Cyclone Rose’ in the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal on Sunday morning.

Cyclonic storm ‘Gulaab’ will move through the northwest and adjoining the west-central Bay of Bengal. Cyclone warnings have been issued for the coastal areas of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha.

The IMD said that Cyclone Gulab is expected to hit the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha around midnight on Sunday.
