Signs Of Karnataka Government To Release More Funds

Signs of Karnataka government to release more funds amidst incessant rains. The Signs of Karnataka government will release more funds as and when required amid continuous rains across the state.

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday directed the district in-charge ministers to take proper precautions in the face of increasing rains across the state.

The Chief Minister has instructed the district in-charge ministers not to leave the legislators and officials of the constituency in the constituency as well as to visit the affected areas.

They have been instructed to take other measures including relief distribution on the spot. He said, ’50 crore rupees have been released by the state government for the flood affected people and if the need is felt more funds will be released.

On Wednesday, Yeddyurappa asked the chief secretary of the state to take necessary steps in view of the increasing rainfall in the state and directed to release Rs 50 crore for emergencies.

Landslide near Mudgere in Chikmagalur district

Heavy monsoon rains in Karnataka led to landslides near Mudgere in Chikmagalur district, while various parts of Kodagu district have faced waterlogging and flood-like conditions due to frequent heavy rains.

Rail alert in these areas

The Central Water Commission on Thursday informed that the river Cauvery in Kudige in Kodagu district of Karnataka has crossed the danger level.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday that due to heavy rains in the state for the last two-three days a red alert has been issued in many districts of Karnataka.

“Red alert has been declared in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Kodagu and Hassan due to heavy rains for the last two-three days,” IMD Bengaluru director CS Patil said. Apart from Karnataka, flood-like situation has arisen in many states across the country.
