Shiv Sena And Congress Came Face-To-Face On Hindutva Issue

Shiv Sena and Congress come face-to-face on Hindutva issue, politics on getting Savarkar Bharat Ratna: Maharashtra.

Politics has started in Maharashtra to get Bharat Ratna to Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Two major components of the Mahavikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra, Congress, and Shiv Sena have come face to face with this issue.

This political war is expected to intensify. On one side is the Shiv Sena, which is demanding the Bharat Ratna for Savarkar, and on the other side, it is the Congress that is opposing this demand.

Following the statement made by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray about Savarkar and Hindutva, there has been a ruckus in his ruling coalition.

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole has said that the Congress stands apart from its ally Shiv Sena in the Grand Alliance government for demanding Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, to be given to Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

The Congress has made it clear by issuing a statement that it does not stand with the Shiv Sena on the issue of Hindutva ideology.

Earlier, SP’s Abu Azmi also objected to Thackeray’s statement that the CM’s statement was unfortunate and told the Muslim ministers involved in the government that if there was even a little shame left in them, they should resign and leave the government.

Abu Azmi said that the government is no longer secular and has deviated from the agenda to run a coalition government. He has written a complaint to NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.

In fact, this statement from the Congress came after the statement of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in which he had demanded the Bharat Ratna for Savarkar.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had asked the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assembly to ask why the ruling party at the Center has not honored Savarkar with the Bharat Ratna till now?

Earlier, in October last year, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had asked why the BJP government at the Center did not confer Bharat Ratna on Savarkar. He also said that the party has never changed its stand on Savarkar.

Hindutva is an issue that has already caused a lot of cracks in the Mahavikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra. Actually, it is a coalition of two different ideological parties.

On one side there is Shiv Sena which collects votes in the name of Hindutva and on the other there are parties like Congress, NCP, and SP which have different views.

In such a situation, an opinion on the Hindutva issue between these parties is difficult. In such a situation, the roots of Mahavikas Aghadi’s unity have definitely been shaken by this.
