Popular actor and TV host Shekhar Suman joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday.

He took membership in the saffron party in the presence of BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde at the party headquarters.

After joining the BJP, Shekhar Suman expressed his gratitude to the top leadership of the BJP including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Vinod Tawde, JP Nadda, and Anurag Thakur.

It is known that this is not Shekhar Suman’s first step in politics. Earlier, Suman contested for the Lok Sabha seat from Patna Sahib under the Congress banner in the year 2009.

In this election, Shekhar Suman was contesting against former BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha. However, he had to face defeat and he stood third. Suman resigned from Congress in the year 2012.
