Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the officers or the president of the state unit, the district president, who are opposing our proposal, know that they will be nowhere when the elections are held. Rajya Sabha member Azad said that whoever really wants the interest of the Congress will welcome the letter.

He said that if the elected people lead the Congress, then the party will be in the interest, otherwise the Congress will remain in opposition for the next 50 years. Azad suggested in the letter that state Congress chiefs, district presidents, block presidents and Congress Working Committee should be elected. The advantage of elections is that when you contest elections, at least your party stands with you.

He argued that when you contest elections, at least 51 percent are with you and you fight against only 2 to 3 people within the party. One person will get 51 percent votes, others will get 10 or 15 percent votes. The person who wins and assumes the charge of the post of president means that 51 percent of the people are with him.

The advantage of elections is that when you contest elections, at least 51 percent of people at your party are behind you. Right now, the person who becomes president may not get even one percent support. If CWC members are elected, they cannot be removed. Where is the problem?

23 Congress leaders wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi

The letter to interim party chief Sonia Gandhi, written by 23 Congress leaders, including MPs and former ministers, called for comprehensive reforms, fair internal elections, collective decision-making, and a full-time president. However, the letter was seen as an attack on Rahul Gandhi, who left the presidency after the Congress’ electoral defeat last year.

However, Rahul remained at the forefront of the party’s aggressive moves against the government. In the last few months, there has been a gap between the Rahul Gandhi camp and the camp of senior party leaders.
