Second night of Congress MLAs in the Karnataka Assembly, protests continue with the demand for Eshwarappa’s resignation.

Congress MLAs continue to protest against KS Eshwarappa’s statement with the saffron flag and in this sequence, these MLAs cut themselves in the Karnataka Assembly on Friday night as well.

Demands are being made to file a case of sedition against Karnataka Minister KS Eshwarappa for his statement about the national flag along with the demand for resignation.

With this protest, Congress MLAs continued to stay inside the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council for the second night.

Second night of Congress MLAs in the Karnataka Assembly: Congress MLAs had dinner here and slept on the bed.

Eshwarappa had claimed that in the future only the saffron flag can become the national flag. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday accused Congress of violating the flag code in the assembly.

The Chief Minister alleged that Congress failed to function as a responsible opposition party in the Karnataka Assembly. Congress was accused of not respecting the tricolor in the day.

The assembly was adjourned for the whole day on Friday due to the uproar by the MLAs of the opposition party. Congress MLAs stayed in the house.

The proceedings of both the houses were stalled due to the uproar by the MLAs.

On Thursday, CM Basavaraj Bommai, Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde, and former CM BS Yediyurappa later held talks with LOP Siddaramaiah in the assembly premises, but to no avail.

Yediyurappa said, “We tried to convince the leaders of the opposition party for about two hours. Told them not to sleep here in the assembly, but They has already taken a decision.

The speaker also tried to convince them. We tried our best, but they did not listen. We will try to persuade them tomorrow.
