Satish Mahana Was Elected As Speaker Of UP Assembly

Satish Mahana was elected unopposed as Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav took him to the chair along with CM Yogi.

Senior BJP leader Satish Mahana, who was a cabinet minister in the Yogi Adityanath government 1.0, was today elected unopposed for the post of Speaker of the 18th Legislative Assembly.

After Satish Mahana was elected unopposed as the Speaker of the Assembly, CM Yogi Adityanath along with the leader of the opposition party Akhilesh Yadav took him to the chair of the Speaker.

Let us tell you that 62-year-old Satish Mahana, a senior BJP leader, was set to be elected unopposed for the post of Speaker, who was elected MLA for the eighth consecutive time from Maharajpur in Kanpur.

The deadline for submission of nomination papers for the post of Speaker had ended at 2 pm on Monday.

Till the stipulated time limit, only Mahana’s nomination paper was deposited in the office of the Principal Secretary, Vidhan Sabha.

Therefore, the announcement of the election of Satish Mahana for the post of Speaker of the Assembly had remained a formality.

Jansatta Dal Loktantrik President Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya along with his party MLA Vinod Kumar also supported Satish Mahana.

Satish Mahana’s name was not on the list of ministers of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Sarkar 2.0 while addressing the House for the first time in the 18th Vidhan Sabha.

Since then there were speculations that he would get the post of Speaker of the Assembly. The BJP has given a respectable post to Mahana, who has been continuously elected MLA since 1991.

Former cabinet minister Satish Mahana, who replaced Pandit Hriday Narayan Dixit, has been winning the assembly elections continuously since 1991.

He has become an MLA for the eighth time in the 2022 assembly elections.

Four leaders including former MLC expelled from SP were accused of opposing party in MLC elections

The Samajwadi Party (SP) has expelled four leaders, including former Ghazipur Legislative Council Member (MLC) Kailash Singh, for opposing the party in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections.

On the instructions of SP President Akhilesh Yadav, State President Naresh Uttam Patel has also expelled Vijay Yadav, the representative of the former District Panchayat President of Ghazipur.

Apart from this, the National Secretary of Baba Saheb Vahini Ramesh Yadav and Upendra Yadav have also been shown the way out of the party.
