Sanjay Raut’s Judicial Custody Till September 19

Sanjay Raut’s judicial custody was extended till September 19, was arrested by ED on August 1.

A special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) has extended the judicial custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in the Patra Chawl land scam case till September 19.

Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on August 1 in connection with money laundering.

Raut was in ED’s custody for eight days before he was remanded to judicial custody on August 9 after the ED said that his further custodial interrogation was not required.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut is implicated in a money laundering case related to the Patra Chal land scam. The Patra Chawl land scam started in 2007.

It is alleged that the scam was carried out with the connivance of Praveen Raut, Guru Ashish Construction and Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited along with Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA).

MHADA had given the work of redevelopment of Patra Chawl to Guru Ashish Construction Company. There is an allegation of a scam of 1034 crores in this.

Sanjay Raut’s friend Praveen Raut is an accused in this case. The construction company has been accused of cheating people of Chaal.

This company is owned by Praveen Raut. Three thousand flats were to be built in Patra Chawl. 672 flats were to be met by the residents of the chawl. There is an allegation of selling land to private builders.

The Shiv Sena on Sunday claimed that party chief Uddhav Thackeray was credited for celebrating the ban-free Ganesh festival two years after the Corona pandemic.

In an article in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, it was said on behalf of the party that Thackeray fought against the Covid epidemic for two years as chief minister and imposed strict restrictions.

In an article published in Saamana, Shiv Sena said that Uddhav Thackeray created awareness among people about safety protocols regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ‘Rokhthok’ column, published in the Shiv Sena mouthpiece titled Kadaknath Mumbaikar, said the ban-free Ganesh festival celebrations could not be because of the Shinde-Fadnavis regime but because of Uddhav Thackeray.
