The meteorological department gave this information. Maximum temperatures remained near normal in Haryana and Punjab, while light to moderate rains was recorded in many parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The meteorological department has forecasted rain and thunderstorms in the three states in the next two days. At the same time, three rivers are already flowing above the danger mark in Uttar Pradesh, where more than 1,000 villages in 16 districts have been affected by the floods. However, an official said that all the embankments of rivers in the state are safe and there is nothing to worry about.

Alert regarding dams in Gujarat

On Sunday, torrential rains in Gujarat flooded many areas and disrupted life. Officials said that an alert has been issued for 14 dams in the state, while warnings have been issued for 17 dams due to excess water flow due to rain. Parts of Mehsana, Patan, Surat, Gir Somnath, Sabarkantha, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Aravali, and Surendranagar districts have been receiving heavy rainfall since Sunday morning

According to officials, low-lying areas have been submerged in many districts. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall till Tuesday morning in many districts of North, South, and East-Central Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch region. Relief Commissioner Harshad Patel said, “44 rivers and 41 lakes are in spate due to heavy rains in the state. Sardar Sarovar Dam is filled up to 60.83 percent, while 68 dams are filled up. ‘

More than 83.62 lakh people affected by floods
The Disaster Management Department said that more than 83.62 lakh people have been affected by floods in 16 districts in Bihar, whereas no new outbreak of floods has been reached in the last 24 hours. On Saturday also, the department had told the same number of flood-affected people and said that 83,62,451 people have been forced to bear the brunt of this disaster, while 27 people have died.

According to the Water Resources Department, Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in Gandhi Ghat and Hathidah of Patna and Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district. The Ganga’s water level is increasing in Buxar, Digha, Gandhi Ghat, Hathidah, and Kahalgaon. Other major rivers including Bagmati, Budhi Gandak, Ghaghra, and Khiroi are flowing above the danger mark in the state.

A low-pressure area may form in the Bay of North Bengal, due to which heavy to very heavy rains may occur in West Bengal from Monday onwards. In the coastal areas of South 24 Parganas district, the embankments of some rivers broke due to heavy rains and the flooding of the fields filled with water.

Heavy rain likely in many areas of Bengal

Meteorologists said that due to active monsoon and low pressure area in the Gangetic coastal areas of West Bengal, the area is forecast to rain. After a few days in Madhya Pradesh, rain decreased on Sunday. Due to the low pressure area moving from here to Rajasthan, it is now raining in that state. However, according to an official of the Meteorological Department, another low pressure area is being formed over the Bay of Bengal due to which the state may receive rain again by the end of this month.

It is expected to happen between 27 to 29 August. After heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, the water level in the Parvati and Kalisindh rivers has increased in Baran and Jhalawar districts of Rajasthan. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in Rajasthan in the last 24 hours. Road contact between the two states has been broken due to heavy rains.
