Religion Conversion Case UP: Funding Links Are Being Examined

Religion Conversion Case UP: Funding links are being opened in conspiracy conversion, ATS will take Omar’s associates on remand.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has now intensified the investigation in Haryana and other states in the case of conspiracy to convert more than a thousand people.

After the arrest of three other associates of Umar Gautam from Nagpur (Maharashtra), the links of funding from different states have also started opening.

ATS is preparing to take Rameshwar Kanwre alias Adam, Kausar Alam, and Bhupriya Bando alias Dr. Arslan, who was caught from Nagpur, on police remand.

Kausar Alam has made connections in Kerala and other states on the pretext of the seed business.

Religion Conversion Case UP: Umar Gautam, the main accused of conspiracy conversion, was getting direct funding from many states.

Evidence of this is also starting to emerge. The ATS is now looking for certain individuals associated with the network of funding through the hawala business.

Sources say that they have direct connections with Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and other states. Funding from these states was channeled to Umar Gautam.

In the interrogation of Adam, the connections of this gang from abroad will also come to the fore.

It is feared that Umar Gautam used to send money coming from many countries through him to his friends spread in different states.

It is noteworthy that on June 20, ATS had arrested the main accused, Delhi resident Mu. Omar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jehangir Alam Qasmi and busted the gang involved in the conspiracy.

After this, Umar’s active partner Mannu Yadav alias Abdul Mannan, resident of Haryana, Irfan Sheikh, resident of Maharashtra, and Rahul Bhola, resident of Delhi were arrested.

Two days ago, three more accused were arrested from Nagpur.

Registration of two institutions suspended: Action has also been taken against two institutions operated by Umar Gautam from Haryana and Lucknow.

The Government of India has suspended the registration of both entities for six months.

These include the Al Hasan Educational and Welfare Foundation located in the Malihabad area of Lucknow and the Mewat Trust for Educational Welfare located in Faridabad (Haryana).

Sources say that the ATS had sent a report to the central government after receiving evidence of funding from abroad for the conversion through both institutions.
