So far in the year 2011, 6.36 lakh devotees had come to visit Baba Amarnath. After that, there was less frequent travel. Only three times in the last fifteen years has the Yatra crossed the five lakh mark.
For the first time in the year 2008, 5.33 lakh devotees came for darshan, and after that, in the years 2011 and 2012 more than six lakh devotees came.
In the year 2019, enthusiasm was again visible among the devotees. After the year 2015, the yatra had exceeded three lakhs, but during that time the yatra was stopped prematurely due to the abrogation of Article 370.
After this, in the years 2020 and 2021, the journey was hit by Covid and the journey was kept closed.
Only the facility of online darshan was kept for the devotees. There was a live telecast of the morning and evening aarti.
This time there is a plan to make wide publicity so that a record number of devotees will come to the Yatra. Not only this but facilities are also being expanded for the devotees.
Along with Bhagwati Nagar, a base camp is also being built at Majin. At the same time, facilities are being prepared for the stay of devotees in Chandrakot of the Ramban district.
It will be prepared before the start of the journey. It has arrangements for the accommodation of 3600 devotees. 32.16 crore will be spent on this entire project.
Till now, if needed, the administration used to make arrangements to accommodate the devotees in schools and religious places only.
At the same time, arrangements are being made to accommodate six thousand passengers this year near Panth Chowk in Srinagar.
For the first time, a helicopter facility is being started for passengers from Srinagar to base camp Pahalgam and Baltal.
Not only this, for the first time, the facility of battery car will also be started in Baltal.
At the same time, the Health Department has also started preparations for the start of online registration.
The names of doctors are being finalized for the preparation of health certificates in hospitals.
According to health officials, by the first week of April, doctors will be authorized to make health certificates. Asked to allow 20 thousand devotees to have darshan.
Earlier it was only fifteen thousand. The Lieutenant Governor has also expressed hope that this time a record number of devotees will come to see Baba Barfani.
Till now there is an accommodation arrangement.
On the Amarnath Yatra route, on the Baltal route, the Shrine Board has made arrangements for accommodation at Manigam, Baltal, and Bhawan.
On the other hand, arrangements are made at Nunwan, Chandanwadi, Sheshnag, and Panjtarni on the Pahalgam route.
