Ramados: Raise Awareness Among Rural People About Vaccine

Ramados: Raise awareness among rural people about corona vaccine.

The basic unsubstantiated lies and frightening information spread about the vaccine have created fear among the rural population which is the reason why they have not come forward for vaccination.

Ramados demanded that rural people be made aware of the corona vaccine.

According to a report released by Ramados, medical experts are urging the general public to be vaccinated to control the second wave of the rapidly spreading corona virus in India and prevent a third wave from developing.

However, it is unfortunate that even 10 percent of the people in Tamil Nadu have not been vaccinated.

As of yesterday, 19.83 crore vaccines have been given across India. Of them, 2.13 crore have been vaccinated in Maratha alone.

Next are 1.70 crore vaccines in Uttar Pradesh and 1.63 crore in Rajasthan. However, in Tamil Nadu, less than half of them have been vaccinated at only 78.87 lakh.

This is less than 10 percent of the population of Tamil Nadu. If vaccinated at the same rate, it would take at least 4 years to complete the vaccination of 6 crore people over the age of 18 in Tamil Nadu.

There are 3 main reasons for the low number of vaccines in Tamil Nadu. The three reasons are that the Central Government has allocated the lowest number of vaccines to Tamil Nadu.

The State Government has not expedited the vaccination process for those over 18 years of age and the people of Tamil Nadu are reluctant to get corona vaccine.

The central government’s allocation of the lowest number of vaccines to Tamil Nadu compared to other states in India can in no way be justified.

Tamil Nadu has not been adequately vaccinated. It is true that when the vaccination movement was started in Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu was lagging behind in all the above 3 factors.

But even now that the situation has changed, it is not fair that the vaccine quota for Tamil Nadu should not be increased.

The incidence of corona in Tamil Nadu was very low when vaccine allocation started; But now Tamil Nadu is the number one state in India for daily corona infection.

Similarly, Tamil Nadu, which was number one in wasting vaccines, is now number three. The pace of vaccination has also increased. In view of this, the vaccination quota for Tamil Nadu should have been increased.

The Government of Tamil Nadu should take steps to bring this to the notice of the Central Government and increase the vaccination quota for Tamil Nadu. Similarly, it is imperative to expedite the vaccination process.

Most important of all is to raise awareness about the corona vaccine among the rural population.

It is an undeniable fact that people do not come forward to be vaccinated in rural areas in an environment where there is competition for corona vaccination in urban areas.

The fact that 15.50% of the vaccines allocated to Tamil Nadu are wasted means that Tamil Nadu ranks third nationally in wasting vaccines.

The basic unsubstantiated lies and frightening information spread about the vaccine have created fear among the rural population which is the reason why they have not come forward for vaccination.

The only way to change that is to raise awareness about the benefits of the vaccine. As the third wave of corona spreads in the next few months, it is imperative that all rural people be vaccinated to prevent it.

Therefore, in the arrangement of the village administration officers, action should be taken to vaccinate the mothers against the benefits of corona vaccines and thereby create awareness among the mothers.

In his statement, Ramados said that the Tamil Nadu government should come forward to make vaccination compulsory.
