Rajya Sabha Election 2022: BJP’s bets in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Haryana may spoil the gameplan of Congress and Shiv Sena.
All eyes are on Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Haryana in the Rajya Sabha elections. 15 candidates are in the fray for 12 seats in the three states.
The contest has turned interesting as Subhash Chandra in Rajasthan, Kartikeya Sharma in Haryana, and Dhananjay Mahadik in Maharashtra are fielded with the support of the BJP.
On the last day of nomination in Rajasthan, MP Subhash Chandra filed an independent nomination and in Haryana, Kartikeya Sharma filed an independent nomination.
On the other hand, BJP has fielded Dhananjay Mahadik, the third candidate from Maharashtra.

Elections are being held for four seats in Rajasthan. The Congress has fielded Randeep Surjewala, Mukul Wasnik, and Pramod Tiwari as its candidates.
After making Ghanshyam Tiwari its candidate on the first list, the BJP announced its support for Subhash Chandra for the third seat on the last day of nomination.
Here BJP will have 30 extra votes after winning one seat. Whereas Congress will have 27 additional votes after winning two seats.
In such a situation, the BJP needs 11 extra votes to win the second seat and the Congress needs 14 extra votes for the third seat.
The state has 13 independents, three each from RLP, BTP, two from CPM, and one from RLD. The eyes of both parties are on these additional MLAs. Rajya Sabha elections are to be held on June 10.

In Haryana, Kartikeya Sharma has created problems in front of Congress candidate Ajay Maken by becoming an independent candidate.
Elections are to be held on two seats in the state. The BJP has extended support to independent candidate Karthikeya for the second seat here. 31 votes are needed to win a seat here.
BJP has 40 MLAs and Congress has 31 MLAs. In such a situation, BJP will provide an additional nine votes to independent Karthikeya.
Apart from this, Karthikeya is confident of the support of ten JJPs and seven independent candidates.

6 seats are falling vacant in Maharashtra. The tenure of BJP’s Piyush Goyal, Vikas Mahatme and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, NCP’s Praful Patel, and Congress’s P. Chidambaram are over.
Shiv Sena has fielded two candidates Sanjay Raut, and Sanjay Pawar.
Pawar is the district president of Shiv Sena from Kolhapur. NCP has fielded Praful Patel. On the other hand, Congress has given a ticket to Imran Pratapgarhi.
The BJP has fielded Piyush Goyal and Anil Sukhdevrao. In Maharashtra, a candidate needs about 42 votes to win in the Rajya Sabha.
Looking at the current equation, BJP can easily win 2 seats. Apart from this, Congress, Shiv Sena, and NCP can win one seat each. That is, candidates can easily win 5 seats.
The fight for the sixth seat may intensify. Actually, BJP and Shiv Sena have fielded candidates for this seat.
