Rajnath Singh inaugurated 43 bridges on the border, laid the foundation stone of Nechifu Tunnel. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated and dedicated 43 bridges to the country to strengthen the infrastructure of the Indian Army on the border.
These bridges have been built by Border Roads Organization in 7 states/union territories. Constructed at a cost of Rs 286 crore, these bridges have been constructed in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
The Defense Minister inaugurated the bridges through video conferencing from Delhi. Apart from this, he also laid the foundation stone of the NechiFu Tunnel being built in Arunachal Pradesh.
In the midst of a border dispute with China, India is working on several important projects. Including a strategic road connecting Darcha in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh. These bridges have been constructed in strategically important areas, which will help the armed forces in ensuring quick movement of troops and weapons.
Let us know that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was first to inaugurate these bridges on 24 September, but the event was postponed in view of the death of Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi.
Of these, 10 bridges have been built in Jammu and Kashmir, 8 bridges in the Union Territory of Ladakh, 8 bridges in Uttarakhand, 8 bridges in Arunachal Pradesh, 4 bridges in Sikkim, 4 bridges in Punjab and 2 bridges in Himachal Pradesh.
