Railway Protection Forces Saved 601 Lives In 2021

Railway Protection Forces saved a total of 601 lives during the year 2021, also played a positive role in the global pandemic.

According to an official statement released on Thursday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has saved 601 lives and 630 others from human traffickers during 2021.

Sacrificed life to save People.

According to the official statement, “During the year 2021, RPF personnel saved 601 people in the way of their duty without caring for their safety.

Head Constable Gyan Chand showed exemplary courage and saved the life of a woman who attempted suicide. In addition, RPF moved 522 Oxygen Special trains from origin stations to destination stations.

According to the official statement, COVID Sahayata Booths have been made operational at major stations with the help of which to get verified information and reach out to the needy.

In addition to providing immediate assistance, information was provided about the availability of COVID-19 resources.

Railway Protection Force on mission mode.

RPF is saving lives in mission mode under “Mission Jeevan Raksha” and its personnel has saved 1,650 lives from the wheels of moving trains at railway stations in the last four years under this mission.

RPF has been awarded nine Jeevan Raksha Padak and one Gallantry Medal by the President of India in recognition of its efforts to save lives in the last four years.

Action against human traffickers.

According to an official statement, “During the year 2021, RPF rescued 630 people from the clutches of human traffickers. This includes 54 women, 94 minor girls, 81 men, and 401 minor boys.”

Further, during the year 2021, RPF arrested more than 3,000 criminals involved in crimes against passengers and handed them over to the concerned Government Railway Police/Police.

Drug peddlers banned

After being empowered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act in 2019, the RPF succeeded in recovering narcotics worth over Rs 15.7 crore through the Railways.

At the same time, during the year 2021, 620 drug peddlers were arrested.
