The state’s Health and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar said on Monday that private hospitals in the state have been ordered to reserve 50 percent of their beds for Covid patients due to rising corona cases in Karnataka.

Dr. Sudhakar while speaking to the media after attending a video conference with the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA) said that private hospitals have been asked to reserve 50 percent of beds for Covid patients as it is the first The same was done during the wave.

Talking about the availability of effective ramcedivir for the treatment of corona, he said, many pharmaceutical companies have stopped the production of ramcedivir.

We need this medicine. Private hospitals have complained that this drug is not available in the market.

We will discuss this issue with the Drug Controller General of the country for supplying Remesadivir injections to private hospitals at government rates.

“We have taken measures to ensure an adequate amount of ventilators and oxygen,” he said. If necessary, industrial oxygen will be used.

He said that the Technical Advisory Committee has evaluated the situation for the next two months and advised to take the necessary steps. The experience gained last year will help us fight the second wave of Corona.

The government knows very well that people are suffering financially from recession. However, so far there has been no consideration for the imposition of lockdown.

The Health Minister said that we have done about 2.2 crore covid tests, 85 percent of which are RT-PCR. He said that people should cooperate in controlling the epidemic.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy CM Dr. Ashwattanarayan CN said that necessary medical treatment is being addressed very strongly.

Home isolation has provided people with essential drugs and pulse oximetry. A good number of tests are being done and beds are also available.

On implementing the lockdown, the deputy CM of Karnataka said that the government has not thought about it yet. It is necessary to take care of both life and livelihood.

This question should not arise and CM has been clear about this. Let us not instill fear in people. We are ensuring that both the economy and livelihoods move forward.

Regarding the examinations, he said that only a few subjects have survived the exam, organizing them online is a challenge. This academic year has been postponed 3-4 months in advance.

The examination will be conducted with adequate Kovid measures while ensuring the safety of the students. There will be an online exam next year.

Meanwhile, an 11-day ‘corona curfew’ has been implemented in some districts of Karnataka, including the state capital, from Saturday night to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The state government has announced a night curfew in the cities of Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Tumkuru, Udupi Manipal between 10 am and 5 pm every day from 10 to 20 April.

It may be noted that after 1,68,912 new cases of Covid in India in the last 24 hours, the total number of positive cases has increased to 1,35,27,717.

After 904 new deaths, the total number of deaths has increased to 1,70,179. The total number of active cases in the country is 12,01,009 and the total number of discharged cases is 1,21,56,529.
