PV Sindhu Is Busy In Preparations For Tokyo Olympics
PV Sindhu is busy in preparations for Tokyo Olympics, said- confidence in coach.
Not being able to participate in tournaments before the Olympics is a big concern for Indian badminton players but it is not the case with PV Sindhu.
She is confident of her Korean coach Park Tae Seng that he will create a match-like situation for her in training.
The Covid-19 epidemic forced the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to cancel the remaining three Olympic qualifier tournaments in India, Malaysia and Singapore.
These three were the last qualifying events before the July-August Olympics.
Asked if the preparation of the tournaments would affect the preparations, Sindhu said, “We were thinking that Singapore would be the last competition before the Olympics.
But now we have no other option, so I am against different players. I am playing matches and my coaches are trying to create a match-like situation for me during park training.
Different players have different playing styles like Tai Ju Ying or Ratchanok Intanon have different playing styles but there are parks for my guidance so that I can prepare.
Of course we will play against each other after a few months and there will be something new in our game so I have to prepare for it.
Sindhu is not training with other Indian players who have qualified for the Olympics. She is training at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Telangana and does her fitness training at Suchitra Academy.
Supporting the BWF’s decision to cancel the tournaments, 25-year-old Sindhu said that it is sad that the competitions could not be played but life is more important than the game.
Sindhu said, ‘It is sad that the whole world has stopped but before the players we are human and life is the most important.
If there are tournaments, we do not know if we will be safe or not, we can think that we will be safe but we cannot be sure because we do not know where the virus will come from. ‘
Former world champion Sindhu said that it would be difficult for the organizers and players in the top competition like Olympics to follow the rules related to Covid-19 and everyone should be ready for this challenge.
She said, ‘All countries have their own rules related to Covid-19.
We were tested on every second or third day in Thailand, after a case of traveling with All to England, the entire team had to withdraw from the tournament but we have to deal with such things.
