Punjab Farmers’ Decision On Talks With Center Today

Punjab farmers’ decision on talks with the Center today, two major issues will be discussed. Punjab farmers’ organizations will take a decision today on whether to accept or reject the invitation given by the Union Agriculture Ministry to negotiate new agricultural laws.

The meeting of the coordination committee of farmer organizations will now take place in Chandigarh instead of Jalandhar. It has also been told that apart from the meeting of the coordination committee, the farmer leaders will also meet separately with the ministers of the state government.

On the other hand, in view of the possibility of talks with the central government, some farmers organizations have also started preparing for the issues to be raised before the center.

It has been told that if the farmers’ organizations agree to negotiate with the central government, then two issues will be raised prominently.

The first issue is that farmers want a minimum support price (MSP) guarantee from the central government. While the other big issue is that the farmers want an assurance from the government that there is no danger of the corporate world taking possession of their land.

Apart from these two issues, some other issues are also being considered, which will be discussed by the farmers’ organization on Tuesday.

It is also being told that the opinion of the farmer’s organizations is different on the talks with the Center and if there is an agreement to negotiate with the Central Government in this meeting, then for this, a separate coordination committee was formed and raised these issues in the talks.

Farmers’ organizations will not talk to any central government official on this issue. He wants either Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar to talk to him on this issue.

There will also be a meeting with state ministers

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has also demanded the farmers to stop the rail stop movement and open the tracks for the operation of goods trains from the farmers.

The Chief Minister has made a committee of three ministers, Trupt Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, and asked them to talk to the farmer’s associations.

This committee has also called for a meeting of farmer organizations on Tuesday.

Balbir Singh Rajewal, the head of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal), said that the meeting of the synergy committee was earlier held in Jalandhar, which has been changed to Chandigarh. In addition to the coordination committee meeting, a meeting will also be held with the ministers of the Punjab government.
