People of the Kshatriya community have expressed displeasure over the title of Akshay Kumar’s film Prithviraj. On Thursday, a demonstration was held in Chandigarh and the effigy was burnt.

In the demonstration organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, there was a demand to change the title.

As reported by the leading media house, the protesters said that the name of the film cannot be just Prithviraj. Its title should be Hindu Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan or Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.

Behind this, they argued that Prithviraj Chauhan was the last Hindu emperor. His name should be taken with respect.

Apart from this, there was also a demand for screening the movie for the Rajput community before the release of the film, to ensure that the facts are presented correctly and there is no tampering.

Let us tell you, Prithviraj is produced by Yash Raj Banner and it is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is known for acclaimed serials like Chanakya.

Dr. Dwivedi is also associated with the production of Akshay’s one side film Ram Setu. Prithviraj is going to release on Diwali this year.

Let me tell you, before this, there was a long controversy regarding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat. There were protests against the film for several months.

Those who opposed Padmavat suspected that the movie would show a love affair between Alauddin Khilji and Rani Padmavati, but later all these speculations proved to be baseless.

The characters of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati never met in the film. Ranveer Singh was in the role of Khilji and Deepika Padukone was in the role of Padmavati.
