This exchange of prisoners was done after local intervention in Albeda in the central province of the country. This information was given by an army officer here.

“Members of two medium-sized al-Qaeda terror groups, who have been lodged in Sanaa’s National Security Prison for several years, were released today,” the official told Xinhua News Agency.

He said two Houthi fighters were released in return. Sources in Albeda did not give further details about the exchange of prisoners.

Prisoner swap between Al Qaeda and Houthi: Al-Bayda province has seen clashes between Yemeni government forces and the Houthi in which many have died and many have been injured.

Let us tell you that these two terrorists were fired by Houthi rebels at the end of last month in Sanaa, a government-held city with two missiles.

At least three people, including a child, died in this. According to Ali al-Ghulisi, press secretary to the provincial governor, the missiles landed in Ravdha near the city of Marib.

Yemen has been ravaged by civil war since 2014, in which 130,000 people have been killed and the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis has arisen.

Prisoner swap between Al Qaeda and Houthi: In mid-June in Yemen’s capital Sanaa, Iran-backed Houthi rebels executed Taliban punishment for child killers.

These rebels, who had captured the capital Sanaa, took three accused to a crowded square and gunned down them.

After death, the bodies of these people were wrapped in carpets and removed from there. This is the first time since 2018 in Yemen that a criminal has been publicly executed.
