Prime Minister Modi to visit the affected areas in Gujarat, will meet Chief Minister Rupani: Cyclone Tauktae.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake an aerial inspection of the areas affected by the cyclone storm in Gujarat on Wednesday. So far 13 people have died due to this storm.

The Prime Minister will go directly to Bhavnagar from Delhi, followed by an aerial inspection of Amreli, Gir Somnath, and Bhavnagar districts.

After this, the Prime Minister will go to Ahmedabad and thereafter review meeting with State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Senior Secretary-level officials will assess the damage caused by the cyclonic storm.

Gujarat CMO gave this information via a tweet on Tuesday.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday and took stock of the situation created in the state due to the cyclonic storm as there was a landslide due to the storm on Monday night.

The storm has weakened today but the wind is still continuing at a speed of 125 kmph. The impact of this storm has been seen in many areas of northern India.

It is raining in many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.

The cyclone storm in Gujarat has caused havoc. So far 13 people have died here, while there has been heavy damage in the coastal areas.

The government will give compensation after the survey of the damage caused by the cyclone. In Gujarat, electric poles and trees were uprooted and many houses and roads were also damaged.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that more than 16,000 houses were damaged due to the cyclonic storm, while more than 40 thousand trees and more than a thousand electric poles were uprooted.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the storm has now weakened and turned into a cyclonic storm and as it moves north it will change under deep pressure.

The cyclone caused heavy rains in many parts of the state and around 35 talukas received more than an inch of rain.
