Praveen Nettaru Murder Case: Karnataka’s Mangaluru Police on Wednesday said that they have arrested seven accused in the murder case of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru.
While three accused are still absconding. It also includes the main accused.
Mangaluru Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Alok Kumar said that the police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will issue warrants for the three absconding accused.
“We have already arrested 7 accused in Praveen Nettaru murder case. Three more main accused are yet to be arrested.
Police review meeting with NIA.
The police held a review meeting with the officials of various districts along with the NIA in Bellary on Wednesday.
Before this meeting, Kumar said, “We will take action against those directly or indirectly involved.”
NIA is also with us. We (Karnataka Police and NIA) will issue warrants to the absconding accused through the court and will confiscate their properties.
Kumar said the police knew about the family, address, and other details of the three main accused but someone harassed them.
He also said that they are also collecting evidence to ascertain whether PFI is involved in the matter or not.
‘We are collecting evidence against PFI’.
“We will ensure whether PFI is involved in this matter or not,” Kumar said. We can’t say anything without any proof. We are collecting evidence.’
PFI’s hand in the killing of BJP worker.
Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra, while giving a statement on the incident, said that the involvement of the extremist PFI and its political wing Social Democratic Party of India is suspected.
Praveen Nettaru was murdered on July 19.
Late in the evening of July 19, BJP youth worker Praveen Nettaru was attacked with deadly weapons by unidentified persons on a bike in Bellare, Dakshina Kannada.
When the BJP Yuva Morcha leader was killed, he was on his way to his house.
Tension prevailed in many parts of the Dakshina Kannada district after the murder. Protests also took place in many parts of the district over the killing.
