Pramod Sawant Took Oath As Goa Chief Minister

Pramod Sawant took oath as Goa CM for the second time in a row, see the list of ministers: Goa CM.

BJP leader Pramod Sawant has become the Chief Minister of Goa for the second time in a row. Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister of Goa on Monday morning.

The program of the swearing-in ceremony was the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium located in Taleigao. Apart from Sawant, eight BJP MLAs have taken oaths as ministers.

These MLAs became ministers.

BJP MLAs Vishwajit Rane, Ravi Nayak, Atanasio Monserrate, Mauvin Godinho, Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Shirodkar, Rohan Khunte, and Govind Gowde have taken oath as ministers of the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda attended the swearing-in ceremony. Apart from this, some Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states also attended the function.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai attended the ceremony.

Pramod Sawant also offered prayers before taking oath as CM. Sawant tweeted some pictures of Pooja. He tweeted and wrote that prayed to God to serve the people of Goa.

BJP won 20 seats.

Recently, elections were held in all 40 assembly seats of Goa. The BJP had won the maximum number of 20 seats. Congress had won 11, Independents had won three seats.

Also, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Aam Aadmi Party won two seats each. GFP and RGP won one seat each. Two MLAs of MGP and three independent MLAs have extended support to the BJP.

Pramod Sawant is the MLA from Sanklim.

In 2017, when the BJP formed its government under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar, he was elected Speaker of the Assembly.

He took oath as the Chief Minister for the first time in March 2019 after Parrikar’s death.
