Policy of zero tolerance will Continue to eliminate terror: Amit Shah. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave instructions to make Amarnath Yatra and tourism season completely safe

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has given clear instructions on Saturday that the policy of zero tolerance will be continued to eliminate terror.

An anti-terrorist operation should be carried out with a pro-active approach for the complete eradication of terror and restoration of lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) should be strengthened to end Narco-Terrorism. A close watch should be kept on the activities of the terrorists lodged in the jails.

Simultaneously, all necessary steps should be taken to bring down the level of infiltration along the border to zero.

Along with this, the security of political leaders and workers and panch-sarpanches should be ensured by regularly assessing the terrorist threat.

The Home Minister, who arrived in Jammu on a two-day visit, on Saturday took a high-level review meeting regarding security in Jammu and Kashmir in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

He also discussed the strategy of security agencies to make the annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath and the tourism season in Kashmir completely safe.

Also said that elections are to be held in Jammu and Kashmir in the coming time, that is why terrorists will try to take advantage of any lapse in security arrangements.

In this security review meeting held at Raj Bhavan in the afternoon, senior police officers including CRPF, BSF, Central Intelligence Agencies, senior officials of MHA, DG of JKP participated.

In the security meeting that lasted for about two and a half hours, the Home Minister asked for maintaining real-time coordination to make the counter-terrorist operations a complete success.

He said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, total eradication of terror is necessary to make Jammu and Kashmir peaceful, secure and prosperous.

A policy of zero tolerance should be adopted towards terrorists and their supporters. The financial sources of terrorists and separatists and the supply chain of weapons will be destroyed.

Along with controlling the recruitment of new terrorists, the anti-infiltration mechanism should be strengthened to eliminate the apprehensions of infiltration.

Questions raised on increasing terrorist incidents.

The Home Minister also questioned the security officials present in the meeting on the alleged failure of the security apparatus to stop and prevent the increase in terrorist incidents in simple words.

He also directed the officers to conduct regular assessments of terror threats to the leaders and workers of all political parties and Panch-Sarpanches and ensure their safety.

Apart from CRPF, BSF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police, central intelligence agencies briefed the Home Minister about the current security scenario and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the situation is continuously improving. As against 417 terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir in the year 2018, only 229 terrorist incidents took place in 2021.

In 2018, 91 security personnel were sacrificed, while last year only 42. On this, the Home Minister asked to bring them to the lowest level.

Also went to see the proposed jail land in Kathua.

The Home Minister also visited Mahanpur in Kathua before returning to Delhi at around 8 pm.

There is a proposal to build a state-of-the-art and tight security jail on about 160 kanals (20 acres) of land at Dambra in Madhapur.

Amit Shah reached here with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha from Chappar at around 5.45 pm. He stayed here for about 15 minutes and discussed the construction of the jail with the higher officials.

Hand over the appointed orders to the relatives of the four sacrifices.

Home Minister Amit Sham handed over appointment orders on compassionate grounds to the relatives of four martyrs of JKP in the presence of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan on Friday.

Under this, Pooja Devi has been appointed as Panchayat Secretary in Jammu.

She is the wife of the sacrificial Rohit Kumar. On 12 January this year, he was martyred in an anti-terrorist operation in Sephora Kulgam in South Kashmir.

A dreaded terrorist Babur was killed in this operation. Ifra Yakub has been appointed as an orderly in the Industries and Commerce Department.

She is the daughter of Balidani Head Constable Mohammad Yakub Shah.

Abid Bashir has been made a follower in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. He is the son of the sacrificed constable Bashir Aham Sheikh.
