The whole incident happened when a team of the District Reserve Guard went out on an anti-Naxal operation.

Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari gave details of the incident

Giving details of the entire incident, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari said that the encounter took place on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

The encounter took place near Bargam village of Aranpur police station area when a team of District Reserve Guard was out on an anti-Naxal operation.

He said that the police and the Naxalites had a face-off, after which the body of a Naxal was recovered in the encounter.

The slain Naxal was identified, which revealed that he is Arjun alias Lakhma Sodi (34), on whose head a reward of Rs 5 lakh was placed.

Sodi was active as a militia commander in charge of the Malanger Area Committee of the Maoists.

The officer further said that Arjun alias Lakhma Sodi was involved in 13 incidents of violence including murder, attempt to murder, and kidnapping.

Giving information about the things recovered after the incident, he said that a pistol, five kg tiffin bomb, Naxalite uniform, electric wires, wire cutters, Naxal literature, and some camping material were also recovered from the spot.

After raiding the hookah bar, the police team has registered a criminal case against the cafe operator Guntas Singh Pal, 33 years resident of Avatar Complex Gorakhpur.

Two hookah sets, tobacco packets of different flavors have been seized from the hookah bar.
