Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, built at a cost of about Rs 5000 crore.

At present, it has a capacity to handle 25 million passengers annually, which may now be around 5-6 crores.
Terminal 2 looks quite luxurious. The total terminal area is 2,55,645 square meters with 17 security check-in lanes. The terminal’s gate lounge has a seating capacity of 5,932.
Greenery can be seen both inside and outside the terminal. Here travelers are going to get a very luxurious experience.
American architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) was chosen to design the terminal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to four states of South India today. PM has reached Tamil Nadu after Bangalore.
The PM also participated in a road show here and also met people. The Prime Minister will then visit Gandhigram Rural University in Tamil Nadu for the convocation ceremony.
Police have tightened security in Madurai in the Dindigul districts of the state in view of PM Modi’s visit.
Prime Minister Modi, who arrived at Madurai airport from Bengaluru at 2.50 pm, will reach Gandhigram University by helicopter for the convocation ceremony at 3.15 pm.
Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will also be present at the convocation.
Eminent musicians Ilayaraja and Umayalapuram Sivaraman will be conferred with honorary doctorates by Gandhigram University and the Prime Minister will recognize the two masters.
