PM Modi Inaugurated The Maritime India Summit 2021: Maritime India Summit 2021. PM Modi said – our nation’s rich maritime history, invest in ports.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second edition of the Maritime India Summit-2021 through video conferencing. The summit will help in furthering the development of India’s maritime economy.

Many countries are participating in the event, including CEOs and ambassadors of several countries to promote investment in the maritime sector in India.

More than one lakh participants from 50 countries have registered online for the MIS Summit 2021, scheduled from March 2 to March 4.

Modi said- Government of India is also focusing on the domestic shipbuilding and ship repair market. To encourage domestic shipbuilding, we approved the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Policy for Indian Shipyards.

We have prepared a program to develop tourism in the land next to 78 lighthouses. It aims to develop existing lighthouses and their surrounding areas into unique maritime tourist destinations.

PM said that we are integrating our ports with coastal economic zones, port-based smart cities, and industrial parks. It will show industrial investment and boost global manufacturing activity near ports.

PM spoke- Our ports have reduced waiting times for inbound and outbound cargo. We are investing heavily in the development of storage facilities in port and play-and-play infrastructure to attract industries to portland. ‘

PM Modi said, ‘The capacity of major ports which was around 870 million tonnes per year in 2014 has now increased to about 1550 million tonnes per annum.

This productivity benefit not only gives a boost to our ports but also to the overall economy. ‘

The Prime Minister said, ‘Through this summit, I want to invite the world to come to India and be a part of our development journey.

India is moving forward sincerely to grow in the maritime sector and emerge as one of the world’s leading blue economies.

PM Modi said- Our nation has a rich maritime history. Civilizations flourished on our shores. For thousands of years, our ports have been important trading centers.

Our shores connected us to the world. This summit brings together several stakeholders related to the region. Together, we will achieve great success in growing the maritime economy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the e-book ‘Maritime India Vision 2030’ at the Maritime India Summit.

The second edition of the Maritime India Summit-2021 through video conferencing is accompanied by PM Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and Prime Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The Prime Minister tweeted on Monday, ‘At 11 am, on 2 March, the Maritime India Summit will be inaugurated.

This summit will bring together key stakeholders from the maritime sector and play a leading role in furthering the development of India’s maritime economy. ‘

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Maritime India Summit 2021 is being organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways from March 2 to March 4 on a virtual platform www.maritimeindiasummit.in.

This summit will envisage a roadmap for India’s maritime sector for the next decade and work to advance India in the global maritime sector.

Eminent speakers from several countries are expected to attend the summit and to leverage and invest in potential business opportunities in the Indian maritime sector. Let us state that Denmark is the partner country for the three-day summit.
