PM Cares fund: 551 medical oxygen plants to be built in the country with PM Cares fund, the important decision of the Modi government.

The country is struggling with the oxygen shortage amid the Corona crisis in the country. A big step has been taken by the government regarding this.

PM Modi has taken a big decision to reduce the scarcity of oxygen in the country. More than 550 oxygen production plants will be set up in government hospitals from the PM Cares Fund in the country.

It has been informed by the PMO that PM Modi has approved 551 medical oxygen-making plants in the country from the PM Cares Fund.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that as per PM Modi’s direction towards increasing the availability of oxygen in hospitals.

For allocation of funds from PM CARES fund for setting up of 551 dedicated medical oxygen production plants inside public health facilities. Theoretical approval is given.

The PMO said that the PM has directed that these plants should be made functional as soon as possible.

These dedicated plants will be set up in the identified government hospitals at the district headquarters in various states / UTs. The purchase will be made through the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The PMO further stated that the basic objective behind setting up PSA Oxygen Generation Plant in Government Hospitals at District Headquarters is to further strengthen the public health system.

Further PMO said it is to ensure that each of these hospitals has captive oxygen generation facilities.

The PMO said that the in-house captive oxygen generation facility would meet the day-to-day medical oxygen needs of these hospitals and the district.

In addition, liquid healing oxygen (LMO) will serve as a “top-up” for captive oxygen generation. There is a need for such support, having access to the supply.

The PMO stated that such a system would go a long way in ensuring that government hospitals in the districts do not face sudden disruption in oxygen supply and sufficient uninterrupted oxygen to manage COVID-19 patients.
