PDP leader Para reached High Court against police FIR, demanded the cancellation of FIR: Terror Funding.
Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) youth wing president Waheed-ur-Rehman Para has reached the High Court to save himself.
This leader is close to PDP President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has demanded the quashing of the FIR registered by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
In this, he has cited a violation of fundamental rights. PDP leader Para has said that the NIA is already investigating such allegations, so the FIR of the police should be quashed.
In the petition, Advocate Reyaz, appearing for Para, has said that NIA and CIW- JKP have conducted separate investigations on similar allegations, which is in violation of the rules of criminal procedure.
Justice Vinod Chatterjee Kaul has directed Counter Intelligence Kashmir to present its side within a month after hearing the arguments of the petition challenging the charges.
In the petition, Para also alleged that the FIR lodged by Counter Intelligence Kashmir is not correct.
Para’s counsel challenging the grant of sanction for registration of a case under the Unlawful Activities Act.
He contended that law and order is an issue of the Center under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.
The concerned authority is required to make such an order by the Home Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.
In July, the court had directed the police to file charges of collusion with terrorists on the police’s charge sheet against Para.
The police chargesheet says that Para was a key weapon for the masters of terrorist organizations based in Pakistan.
In the chargesheet, his 13 years of journalistic life and politics have been described as flawed.
The Special Judge of the NIA has ordered Para to register the charges of being a member of a terrorist organization that he used to raise funds for terrorists and himself.
