Parliamentary Committee On Home Affairs Meeting In Kashmir

Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs meeting in Kashmir: Parliamentary Committee inquires the progress of work on the return of Kashmiri Hindus, will reach Jammu today.

The Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs, which came to take stock of the security and development scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.

Committee held discussions with senior officers of the state administration and CRPF officials on Thursday.

The committee also assessed the work being done towards the return and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus.

The members of the committee also met representatives of self-help groups, people associated with agriculture, and horticulture.

The Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs under the leadership of senior Congress leader and MP Anand Sharma is in Srinagar since Wednesday.

On the first day, the members of the committee also met the members of the district development councils and municipal bodies.

In a meeting with the state administration on Thursday, issues related to infrastructure development, roads, and electricity, water, education, Panchayati Raj in Jammu and Kashmir were discussed in detail.

Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta briefed the committee about the related issues.

The Home Affairs Committee took stock of the work being done in the direction of the return and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus and stressed giving them more momentum.

The committee also asked for early completion of transit housing facilities being prepared for resettlement and return of the displaced.

Appreciation of covid management: The committee also appreciated the state government in the context of covid-19 management and starting relief work for its affected.

Committee expressed happiness over the implementation of e-office and other administrative reforms.

The committee also visited the camp of CRPF’s 132nd Corps at Neddo’s Hotel located on Maulana Azad Marg in Srinagar later in the afternoon.

The Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs will know the needs and difficulties of BSF personnel posted along the International Border in Jammu on Friday.

Members of the Parliamentary Committee will take stock of the preparations made for disaster management at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi site on Saturday.

In the afternoon, there will be a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs and BSF in Jammu. After that, it will leave for Delhi.
