Pakistan Will Soon Be Blacklisted: FATF Will Take A Tough Decision

Pakistan will soon be blacklisted: FATF will take a tough decision next month if it keeps terrorists. Pakistan could be pushed into the ‘Black List’ of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) next month as it continues to finance terrorist organizations.

The Greek City Times reported. Terrorist organizations like Jamar-ud-Dawa (JuD) and Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) are promoting terrorism and playing with people’s lives without any hassle in Pakistan.

The FATF is an international body, which sets guidelines for all countries, interfering in financial matters such as money laundering and terrorism funding. The blacklist lists countries that are promoting terrorism financially.

During a meeting to be held next month, the global watchdog will take information on the gray-list kept to Pakistan.

It is being told that a very strict surveillance has been kept on Pakistan and if there are any defects still seen then there will be a lot of trouble for the country. Let us tell that Pak was placed in the gray-list in 2018.

FATF President Marcus Pleier said during an October review meeting in 2020 that Pakistan’s efforts to counter terrorist financing had ‘very serious shortcomings’ and that the country had until February 19-21 to resolve these issues Given, because they can’t wait forever. The Greek City Times reported.

He further said that we see that if we have taken action against terrorism or brought some reforms in the country, then we give it time, but we do not do it forever.

The Greek city Times reported that Pakistan is currently in the gray list, but if it does not fulfill its commitments to curb financing of terrorism, it will not take time to be pushed into the blacklist.

Even if it fulfills its obligations, it will still be under the supervision of the FATF. Under this, the FATF was shown many examples of videos and other things, in which it was clear how Pakistan is supporting terrorism.
