OPD Service Stalled Till 6 Pm Today Due To IMA’s Nationwide Strike; Know the reason. The Indian Medical Association is on strike on Friday, December 11 across the country.

Under this, there will be no treatment left from emergency services from 6 am to 6 pm today. During this period, all non-emergency and non-medical medical services will be closed.

Opposition to the permission of surgery given to students of Ayurveda

This strike is being done against a decision of the government. In fact, the government has given permission to the students of Ayurveda to do surgery.

Under the government ordinance, students of Ayurveda have been allowed to undergo surgery in 58 types of common treatments like nose, ear, throat.

The order was given a few days ago by the Council of Medicine.

The move by the central government allowing surgery to students of Ayurveda has been termed as ‘Mixopathy’. Also, the ability of Ayurveda doctors to perform surgery has been questioned.

Under this strike by IMA, an appeal has been made to close all the clinics, non-emergency health centers, OPD, surgeries across the country.

At the same time, understanding the problems and difficulties of common people, it is permissible to continue work in Emergency Medical Services, ICU, Covid Care, CCU, Emergency Surgery, and Labor Room.

The Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) will remain completely closed for the strike period. The IMA has appealed to all doctors of modern medicine to join the strike.

This step has been taken following a notification by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) allowing post-graduates from Ayurveda to undergo general surgery.
