One Terrorist Killed In An Encounter In Shopian

One terrorist killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Shopian, the other surrendered.

One terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in Hajipora, District Shopian of South Kashmir.

While the other surrendered before the security guards. When the second terrorist surrounded by security forces could not see any way to escape, he broke down and surrendered.

The encounter site was surrounded by SOG personnel of Police, 34RR of Army, and CRPF personnel. The surrounded terrorists were already being asked to surrender, but they started firing.

According to the information received from the police, the police got information about the sighting of terrorists in Hajipora, Shopian.

Without losing a moment, a joint team of police, army, and CRPF reached the area and started searching for the terrorists.

As the security personnel approached the spot where the terrorists were hiding, the terrorists started firing.

One terrorist was killed in an encounter that lasted for a few hours. It was not clear how many more terrorists were still hiding. There was intermittent firing.

Taking positions, the security personnel continued to retaliate against the terrorists. Meanwhile, the army also asked the hiding terrorists to surrender but till now there was firing from both sides.

Security forces arrested him. His weapons have also been confiscated. He told that both the terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
