The Minister of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights in Salem, Mrs. B.S. Geeta Jeevan has said in a meeting with Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Officers.
Zonal Review Meeting for Social Welfare and Women’s Rights Officers from 8 Districts namely Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri.
Dharmapuri, Tiruppur, Erode, Coimbatore, and Nilgiris were held at the Salem District Collectorate.
Mr. Shambhu Kalloligar, Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights, Mr. S. Karmegam, Collector, Salem District.
Mrs. V. Amuthavalli, Project Director, Integrated Child Development Services, Mrs. T. Amuthavalli, Director, Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights were present at the meeting.
Mrs. V. Ratna, Director, Department of Social Security. Valarmati, Salem Member of Parliament Mr. S.R. Mr. Parthiban, and Salem North Assembly Member. Ira. Rajendran took the lead.
The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare and Women’s Rights, Mrs. P. Geetha Jeevan. She did a detailed study of the contents.
She said, “The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been giving more importance to the Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Rights and implementing various projects.
The Chief Minister has directed that every project should go to the eligible persons without delay.
It is being investigated whether the Child Marriage Prevention Act is being systematically monitored in all areas and measures taken to prevent child marriages.
In order to prevent child marriages and protect their future.
People need to be made aware of the Prevention of Child Marriage Act and the Prevention of Child Marriage Act, which provides for severe penalties under this Act if child marriages take place.
Department officials should constantly monitor all areas and work diligently to prevent child marriages.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been implementing various programs for the advancement of women, protection of girl children, and development of the people.
The department officials should work diligently to bring all the projects that are being implemented to the people and fully implement them, ”she said.
