O Panneerselvam has turned down the post of Deputy Leader. Former Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam turned down Deputy Leader in the Assembly, Silence in AIADMK.

AIADMK Coordinator and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O.K. Panneerselvam have turned down the post of Deputy Leader of the Legislative Assembly.

Former Chief Minister Palaniswami, who became the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, offered to make him the deputy leader.

Palaniswamy was supported by 61 of the 66 MLAs of the party in a meeting held at the AIADMK headquarters on Monday.

O Panneerselvam had chosen Dhanapal for the post of Leader of the Opposition, but he was unsuccessful.

A senior party leader and MLA said, ‘Panneerselvam had tried to increase the name of former Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal for the post of Leader of Opposition, but he was unsuccessful. He exited the party headquarters in Jhalhat.

This rift in AIADMK has been going on since the death of Jayalalithaa and Sasikala’s arrest on corruption charges. The agreement was reached after the intervention of the central leadership of the BJP.

Center nominates three BJP supporters in Puducherry Assembly.

Puducherry: The central government has nominated three BJP supporters as members of the Puducherry Assembly. K. Venkatesan, VP Ramalingam, and RB Ashok Babu have been nominated as members of the Puducherry Assembly.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has nominated them under the authority conferred on the Central Government under the Union Government of India Act, 1963.

All India NR Congress, BJP, and AIADMK coalition managed to win the most seats in the elections held for Puducherry Assembly.
