Amnesty International has announced to close its operations in India, accusing the government of harassment. The statement said that the NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of the matter and issued a notice to the Home Secretary seeking response to Amnesty International’s allegations.

Earlier, Amnesty International had said that it was obliged to remove its employees in India and shut down all its operations and research operations. However, the government had denied all of Amnesty International’s allegations and said the institution was violating the country’s laws.

According to the survey, 78.10 percent of drug suppliers have stated that earlier they used to consume only drugs, but later they started providing it to their friends as well. Of this, about 56.54 percent of the drug users have now become suppliers.

They say that most of the consignments are coming from Pakistan through infiltration. Not only this, but drugs are also being supplied through Nepal and Afghanistan. The survey report is based on information from jailed drug suppliers.
