US President Donald Trump effectively abolished the practice of releasing prisoners from the prison in Guantanamo Bay.

There are five prisoners remaining in this prison during the tenure of President Trump. Before Trump took office, it was expected that he would be released, but the plan hung in the balance.

Cases of seven prisoners are pending before the Military Commission. Five of the accused are guilty of planning the 11 attacks.

According to a report, $ 9 lakh or Rs 5.6 crore is spent annually on every prisoner here. In addition, the Pentagon spends over 9 billion rupees annually on its maintenance.

Barack Obama said during his tenure that he would propose to close the Guantanamo Bay Jail in Congress. He said that if it is not approved, he will use his veto power.

However, this did not happen during his tenure. According to the New York Times report, 107 prisoners from different countries were still lodged in this prison.

Around 780 people have taken the prison air. Of these, 664 prisoners were shifted to other jails. 11 September
