Explain that Ravi had said in the Legislative Assembly last month that differences between the Center and Naga groups over political rebellion have ended and there is a need to move quickly towards a final solution.

BJP and allies agree on seat sharing in Assam

There has been an agreement between the BJP and its two allies – the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) – for seat-sharing for the Assam Assembly elections.

Sources said that it will be announced in a day or two. Sources said that in a high-level meeting held at the home of Union Home Minister Amit Shah here, a ’99 percent agreement ‘has been reached on seat sharing.

At the same time, there is no talk on the seat-sharing between the DMK and the Congress in Tamil Nadu.

Apart from Shah, BJP President JP Nadda was present in the meeting, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. Apart from these, BJP’s Assam Pradesh President Ranjit Das.

AGP chief and state minister Atul Bora, UPPL president Pramod Boro, BJP leader and minister in the state Hemant Vishwa Sarma were also present. The seats will be formally announced soon.

UPPL can get 12 seats

The AGP, which won 14 seats in the last assembly election, could get 25 seats this time. UPPL is the new ally of the BJP and does not have any members in the assembly, so it is likely to get 12 seats.

The BJP will contest the remaining seats in the 126-member assembly. The BJP had won 60 seats in the last election. In the last election, the BPF was with the BJP and won 12 seats, this time it has split from the BJP.
