NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) made it clear at the summit in the Belgian capital Brussels in the presence of US President Joe Biden that it would not directly engage in the Ukraine war.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said the 30-nation organization did not pose any threat from Russia.

But due to caution, combat troops will be deployed in Russia’s nearest member countries – Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia.

Several important decisions were taken by the US and Europe at important meetings of NATO, the European Union, and the G7 countries in Brussels on Thursday.

The US has announced an extension of sanctions on Russia and additional aid to Ukraine.

The United States will give its visas to one lakh people migrating from Ukraine to help them survive.

Apart from this, humanitarian assistance of one billion dollars (about seven and a half thousand crore rupees) will be given to Ukraine.

Military assistance would be in addition. The US-led NATO has also decided to increase Ukraine’s military supplies. NATO had already refused direct intervention in the Ukraine war.

After a month of the war, the coalition reiterated this point again on Thursday. President Biden said Ukraine has the right to self-defense. So we will continue to support her and extend her help.

Zelensky sought the cooperation of the people of the world in the war against Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who attended the NATO summit via video conferencing, sought the cooperation of the people of the world in the war against Russia.

He said, leaving their homes and offices, people should gather at the nearby square-street nooks and declare their support for Ukraine.

The battle that Ukraine is fighting is a fight for freedom and peace. During this, Zelensky demanded more military aid and support from US President Joe Biden and NATO member states.

Earlier, while addressing the Swedish parliament, Zelensky also called the claim of membership of the European Union necessary because he is countering the Russian attack for the security of the whole of Europe.

He and the people of his country want to join Europe for freedom, security, and development.
