National Investigation Agency raids in Bangalore in connection with the attack on the police station.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted simultaneous raids at seven locations in Bengaluru in connection with the mob attacks on two police stations last year.

The internet media was attacked by a mob over derogatory posts. The premises of seven absconding accused were raided on Saturday, the official said.

The mob, which was protesting against the derogatory post made about Hazrat Muhammad on internet media by a person named Naveen, turned violent and targeted the police stations.

The mob attacked policemen, torched police vehicles, and damaged public and private properties around both the police stations.

The NIA re-registered the case and filed charge sheets against 109 and 138 people, respectively, for attacking both the police stations in February this year.

During the raids on Saturday, various incriminating documents and electronic devices were seized from the premises of the absconding accused. NIA officials said that investigation is going on in the case.

Karnataka government gave cabinet rank facilities to Yeddyurappa, who resigned from the post on July 26.

The Bommai government of Karnataka has approved cabinet ministerial facilities for former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa. An order has been issued in this regard.

These facilities will continue till Bommai is the Chief Minister. Yeddyurappa had resigned from his post on 26 July amid all kinds of speculations.

His resignation was due to the BJP’s policy regarding the age limit of 75 years. Under this policy, Yeddyurappa can no longer hold any post other than that of an MLA.

According to official sources, apart from the salary, the cabinet rank minister gets certain allowances and facilities for conveyance, official accommodation, etc.

Bommai distributes departments in Karnataka.

In Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday distributed portfolios among his ministers.

Most of the ministers have been given the same portfolios that they had in the BS Yeddyurappa government.

Bommai made 23 out of 29 ministers who were in the Yeddyurappa government in the cabinet formation on Wednesday. Six ministers are new.
