On the crushing defeat of the BJP in the Punjab Municipal Corporation elections, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that it is unfair to relate those results to the farmers’ movement.
We were weak in Punjab and before that, we used to contest elections in alliance with the Akali Dal. But we have contested this time separately, due to which the party has suffered a loss during the elections.
The government wants to talk to agitating farmers: Tomar
With this, the Union Agriculture Minister said that the central government still wants to talk to the farmers agitating against the agricultural laws.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said in Parliament that the government wants to talk about all three laws point-by-point. He said we are constantly in contact with agitating farmers.
The Indian government is ready to talk with them on agricultural laws. Tomar, however, did not react when the talks between the two sides were likely to resume.
He also said that several schemes have been proposed for the welfare of the farming community in the budget of the next financial year.
BJP is going to win this time again in Assam: Agriculture Minister
Regarding the assembly elections in Assam, the Union Minister said that due to the pro-incumbency towards the government, the BJP is going to win more seats in the assembly elections.
The people of Assam have seen what was happening in the previous government. Corruption was at its peak. Development was far away, law and order situation was very bad.
Assam is witnessing pro-incumbency rather than anti-incumbency. This is a very good sign for the BJP and I hope that the BJP will be able to form the government again.
Along with this, he said that the Chief Minister of Assam and his entire team have served the people in these 5 years. Peace and law and order have been established in Assam. He has linked the development to a new dimension.
Let the Congress know that in the local body elections 2021 in Punjab, the Congress has won a huge victory across the state. In many places including Bathinda, Kapurthala, it has almost eliminated other parties.
The picture has been cleared in most districts. The Congress has captured many municipal corporations, city councils, and city panchayats.

The farmers have been given long rope ,they take it for weakness of the government to face their strength .What mess this agitation has made people in capital and other people who are concerned about the peace and progress of country feel disturbed and are concerned about the consequences of this agitation . Wait and watch policy adopted by the government has its merits as well as demerits . It is a preventive rather than decisive measure . A heap of dirt gives way under its own weight .It is happening ,the number of agitators is decreasing but it still is going on though with low intensity . By calling farmers "AAN DATA " they feel undue importance and really think people will die if they will stop farming ,forgetting what will happen to them and also ignore the majority of real Farmers are working in their fields supply Milk ,Vegetables and other fruit to the markets regularly . Above all this is agitation by framers from Punjab , Eastern UP and some parts of Haryana and Rajsthan ., this is not the whole India, not even two percent of farmers of country . The movement is exposed now it is totally politicized so the end is nearer .
