Meeting With States Lagging In Corona Vaccination: UHM

Meeting with states lagging in corona vaccination: Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will hold a meeting on Wednesday with the Chief Ministers of those states, who are lagging behind in the matter of corona vaccination.

The ministry said that the states with which the Chief Ministers are going to hold this meeting include Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Telangana.

Significantly, the process of vaccination has started for those above 18 years of age in the country, but in some states, it has not been started yet.

It is expected that in the meeting, the Union Minister will discuss the reasons for the delay due to the corona vaccination.

The Union Minister is going to hold this meeting at a time when the shortage of vaccines has come to light in states like Delhi and Maharashtra amid growing corona infection in the country.

At the same time, on Tuesday, the Health Minister has urged the states that those who have taken the first dose should be given priority for the second dose.

For this, the states have asked states to keep 70 percent of the supply being given from the center in reserve.

Apart from this, the Center has also urged the states to avoid vaccine waste and to make people aware of taking both doses of the Corona vaccine.

Let me tell you that people who have taken two doses of vaccine are left in critical condition due to infection and there have not been any cases of death among them.

Therefore, the government is appealing to the people to take two doses of the vaccine.

Considering the production of Johnson & Johnson vaccine in India, the country will soon get another vaccine.

The United States is considering joint production of Johnson & Johnson’s Corona vaccine in India and helping manufacturers such as Serum Institute of India (SII) to increase production.

Daniel B. Smith, the US Embassy’s Charge Affairs Affairs, said this on Tuesday. Smith said the United States was concerned about the current state of the epidemic in India.

The Biden administration stands firmly with India to deal with the crisis. Smith, who was currently acting Foreign Minister and Acting Deputy Foreign Minister, has been appointed Charge Affairs at the US Embassy in India.
